More cast announcements made for upcoming “Ranma 1/2” anime reboot

Shogakukan Shueisha Products Inc. has announced additional character and cast information for the TV anime “Ranma 1/2”.

Five new characters and the cast members who will play them have been announced.

Sugita Tomokazu will play “Kuno Tatewaki”, Sakura Ayane will play “Kuno Kodachi”, Morikawa Toshiyuki will play “Ono Tofu”, Miyano Mamoru will play “Sanzenin Mikado” and Yuki Aoi will play “Shiratori Azusa”.

Additionally, visuals and profiles of the additional characters have also been released!

In addition, an event will be held on Thursday, October 3rd where you can watch the anime ahead of its TV broadcast/streaming starting on Saturday, October 5th !

In addition to screening the first episode, Yamaguchi Kappei (voice of Saotome Ranma) and Hidaka Noriko (voice of Tendo Akane) will be on stage to talk about the series.

300 people will be selected by lottery from among those who apply through X and will be able to participate in this event for free.

Sugita Tomokazu commented, “This is Sugita Tomokazu, who plays Kuno Tatewaki. He doesn’t come across as some kind of eccentric or weirdo, but as a pure being in all things. I would be happy if I could add a touch of straightforward color to your work, like a bolt of lightning from the sky. Thank you. The game I played the most was ‘Bakuretsu Rantou Hen'”.

Sakura Ayane commented, “Something related to ‘Ranma 1/2’? I felt like my life had become one that I could no longer understand. I would like to carry on the spirit of the Kodachi sword, which has been loved for so long, with all my heart and soul. The work environment is very warm and stimulating. I will never forget the time when a senior colleague said to me, ‘Let off some steam here and then go home’. It was a signal to release the limiter that had been put on by tension. I hope that both old and new fans will enjoy it. We hope you enjoy the new Ranma”.

Morikawa Toshiyuki commented, “My name is Morikawa Toshiyuki, and I will be playing the role of Professor Tofu. I am very honored to be involved in Rumiko-sensei’s work again after such a long time. I would be happy if I could successfully express the elusive, carefree feeling of Tofu (laughs). Ah, Kasumi-san…I’m so excited and waiting to meet you!!”.

Miyano Mamoru commented, “I never expected that ‘Ranma 1/2’ would return as a new series in the Reiwa era, so it was quite a shock! At the time, I loved the anime so much that I watched it and even bought the theme song CD (lol). To think that I would actually be able to appear in ‘Ranma’ feels like a dream come true. Recording has already begun, and it’s a joy for both the ears and the heart to hear ‘that voice’ flying around, just as it was back then. I will also be giving my all to brilliantly portraying the very eccentric character of Sanzenin Mikado in this world, so please look forward to it!”.

Aoi Yuki commented, “I never thought the day would come when I would be able to take part in ‘Ranma 1/2’ as a cast member, so I’m really happy. I took all the joy and excitement of standing in front of the microphone with all these legends and turned it into energy, and did my best to act as the cute, violent, selfish and mysterious Azusa!
