Actress and singer Miho Nakayama (54) was found dead in the bathroom of her home in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo on the 6th. After the Metropolitan Police Department investigated the situation, they found that the cause of Nakayama’s death was likely due to illness or an accident. This was learned from an interview with an investigator. An autopsy will be performed on the 8th to determine the cause of death.
Nakayama was found in the bathroom of her home around noon on the 6th and was confirmed dead on the spot. According to investigators, the front door to her home was locked at the time and Nakayama had no visible injuries.
No suicide note was found, and the Metropolitan Police Department believes that the situation at the scene suggests that she died of illness or an accident. For this reason, the cause of death will be revealed through a “legal autopsy” based on the Cause of Death and Identity Investigation Act, rather than an autopsy performed when a crime is suspected.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Nakayama did not show up at the meeting place around 9:00 a.m. on the 6th, so someone from her office visited her home. The front door was locked, so they called an acquaintance who had a key to go inside and found her collapsed.
On the 7th, Sponichi Annex learned that a staff member had sent a LINE message to actress and singer Nakayama, who was found dead in the bathroom of her apartment in Tokyo on the 6th, at around 7:00 a.m. on the same day, but it was not marked as “read”. Nakayama sent a work-related email to the staff member at around 2:30 a.m. on the 6th. However, the staff member was already asleep and only noticed the email after waking up the next morning. After that, he sent a reply to Nakayama via LINE, but it was not marked as “read” and Nakayama was found dead at her home without being able to communicate with him.
