Yonezu Kenshi to appear on Kouhaku Utagassen for the first time in six years

On the 20th, NHK announced that singer-songwriter Yonezu Kenshi will be appearing as part of a special project at the 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen (7:20 p.m.) on New Year’s Eve.

This will be Yonezu’s first appearance at the Kohaku Uta Gassen in six years, since his first appearance in 2018. At the time, he appeared in the White Team and performed “Lemon” live from the Otsuka Museum of Art in Tokushima. This year, he was in charge of the theme song “Sayonara Mata Itsuka!” for the first half of the morning drama “Tora ni Tsubasa” (starring Ito Sari). Ito Sari, who played the heroine of the drama, will be hosting “Kouhaku Uta Gassen” alongside Ariyoshi Hiroiki and Hashimoto Kanna.
