“Golgo 13” celebrating 50th Anniversary

Back in 1968, Saito Takao’s “Golgo 13” was published in Shogakukan’s “Big Comic” magazine.

And this year “Golgo 13” is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Shogakukan released a “Big Comic Special” in January featuring a Reader’s Choice Top 13 collection that was originally released in 2001.

The revised version features a majority of the stories that were featured in the 2001 edition.  A Big Comics questionnaire from Shogakukan was held in 2015-2016 and those stories  are featured in this volume.  “The Vatican” is now included in this 2018 release.  So, it’s good for those who are unable to read all 600 chapters and 50 years worth of “Golgo 13” but for those who want the top 13 stories as selected by readers, this is a good way to start.  Featuring 1500 pages, the book is no doubt thick like a dictionary and packed with history.
