“Golgo 13” vol. 200 will be released, ties “KochiKame” which has the Guiness World Records of manga series with the most published volumes

The 200th volume of the manga “Golgo 13” by Saito Takao will be released on April 5th and it will tie “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo” (aka “KochiKame”) for a title of manga series with the most published volumes.

“KochiKame” was certified in September 2, 2016 as the single manga series with the most published volumes.

“Golgo 13” has been serialized in the same magazine (Shogakukan’s “Big Comic”) since 1968 featuring the activities of Duke Togo, a super-class sniper.

“Golgo 13” is the oldest manga still in publication. It has sold 280 million copies in various formats, including compilation books, making it the second or third-best-selling manga series and the top selling Seinen manga series in history.
