Drama writer Kitagawa Eriko reunites with actor Toyokawa Etsushi for a two-shot photo and for the April NHK drama “Hanbun, Aoi”.

Kitagawa Eriko is one of the Japan’s well-respected drama writers.  Responsible for popular dramas such as “Asunaro Hakusho” (1993) “Aishiteiru to Itte Kure” (1995), “Long Vacation” (1996), “Overtime” (1999), “Beautiful Life” (2000) and “Love Story” ( 2001).

The last time Kitagawa saw her star actor Toyokawa Etsushi was back in 2001 for “Love Story” and recently she posted a two-shot on Instagram with her and Toyokawa on the set of the drma “Aishiteiru to Itte Kure” (from 1995) and on the set of “Hanbun, Aoi” (2018).

Kitagawa wrote, “With Toyokawa Etsushi.  In 1995, we met for “Aishiteiru to itte kure”, 2001 for “Love Story”.  It too me a long time to see you again in 2018 for the morning April drama “Hanbun, Aoi”.  A role of a manga artist, Akikaze Haori.  It’s a very fun role! Stay tuned!”.

“Hanbun Aoi” is a story that revolves around Nireno Suzume (portrayed by Nagano Mei), a girl who was born in a small town in Gifu Prefecture.

Suzume lost her hearing in one ear when she was sick back in elementary school.  But she is a girl who thinks positively and grew up with a positive family.  She also loves to draw and dreams of becoming a manga artist.

One day Suzume decides to move to Tokyo and meet the person that inspired her, manga artist Akikaze Haori (portrayed by Toyokawa Etsushi).   Determined to become a manga artist like him, what happens when she meets the man she idolized?

The NHK drama “Hanbun, Aoi” will begin on April 2nd and will be broadcasted through September 29th.
