“Kishin Doji Zenki” illustrator Kuroiwa Yoshihiro passed away on May 8th

Back in 1992, “Kishin Doji Zenki” (Demon God Child Zenki) was serialized in “Monthly Shonen Jump”, where it would continue to be serialized until 1996 and also entertain anime fans with a 51-episode anime series in 1995 courtesy of Studio Deen.

The creator of the manga series was courtesy of writer Tani Kikuhide and illustrator Kuroiwa Yoshihiro.

On Kuroiwa’s blog and Twitter account, his wife posted that her husband Yoshihiro had passed away at the age of 55 of myocardial infarction on May 8th.

Kuroiwa’s wife posted:

I am Kuroiwa Yoshihiro’s wife.

I have important news.

On May 8, 2018, my husband, Kuroiwa Yoshihiro, passed away due to myocardial infarction.

I wanted to say it soon but the report was delayed and the funeral was held only by relatives.

Kuroiwa goes on to thank everyone but also explain that she asks for people’s understanding that she is unable to respond to everyone, especially on Twitter.

Everyone who loved the work of Kuroiwa Yoshihiro, who cheered him, who exchanged communication with him, thank you very much.

Kuroiwa’s last blog post was made on May 7th, the day before his death.

Kuroiwa posted a drawing and wrote:

Golden Week has ended.

Nothing will change though.

Because it is the same as any usual month, I have been working forever.

Golden Week, it did not matter at all.

So, I drew a drawing of a girl holding one leg sitting on a table.
