Kodansha to print 200,000 copies of upcoming Nogizaka46 photobook "Nogisatsu"

Nogizaka46’s Shiraishi Mai’s “Passport” photo book surpassed 300,000 copies in circulation which was unprecedented.

And now Kodansha is making sure that Nogizaka46’s new photobook “Nogisatsu” has a strong circulation with 200,000 copies being printed. The first time a photobook received this many copies for its first printing.

To be released on June 26th, the new photobook features Nogizaka46 members becoming a photographer carrying a digital camera and snaking off-shots of each other.

The reason for the high first printing is because of high pre-orders. In fact, for the Nogisatsu Twitter account, there are over 234,000 followers.

Will “Nogisatsu” sell out its 200,000 copies leading to a second printing? We’ll have to wait and see.
