After 26 years, “Crayon Shin-chan” voice actress Yajima Akiko announces that she is stepping down

“Crayon Shin-chan” voice actress Yajima Akiko has been doing the voice of Shin-chan for 26-years and 3 months since the TV Asahi anime series began broadcasting in 1992.

But Yajima announced that she is stepping down as the role at the end of the June 29th episode.  The reason was because it has become difficult for her to continue to do the voice of Shinnosuke naturally, so after discussing with the staff, she decided to step down.

It was announced that a replacement for Yajima will begin next month.
