TV Asahi is moving “Doraemon” and “Crayon Shin-Chan” from Friday evenings to Saturday afternoon

Popular TV Asahi anime series “Doraemon” (currently on Friday at 7:00 p.m.) and “Crayon Shin-Chan” (Friday at 7:30 p.m.) are moving to a new time slot.

On October 5th, both series will be moving to Saturday afternoon and “Doraemon” will now be broadcast at 4:30 p.m. and “Doraemon” at 5:00 p.m.

“Doraemon” has been broadcast on television for 38-years since 1981.

Many fans on SNS have shared their sadness that both anime series will no longer be part of the Friday evening “Kinyo Golden Time” (7:00 p.m.)

Back on July it was announced of other program schedule changes for Friday:

“Doraemon” and “Crayon Shin-chan” will be moving to Saturday, while the 7:00 p.m. position will now go to “Zawatsuku! Kinyobi” (originally was at 8:57 p.m.).  The long running music show “Music Station” (since 1986) which has been popular as part of TV Asahi’s Friday golden lineup for the last eight years, will now move from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The change for Music Station’s schedule is to make it easier for younger viewers to be at home and watch.

While 11:20 p.m. Wednesday program “Matsuko & Ariyoshi Kari Some Tengoku”  will now be part of TV Asahi’s Kinyo Golden-Tai lineup.

The changes are in part as a reflection of the new viewing habits of adult and younger viewers and their lifestyle.
