It was unfortunate to read the news of once, mega producer Tetsuya Komuro being caught by a tabloid that he was having an affair with a nurse where he was receiving treatment and he has ended his music career. But the press conference was interesting that it gave an insight to the status of his wife, KEIKO (vocalist of the pop group, globe), who has not really been seen in public since suffering a stroke via a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage in 2011. And not much has been said about her health but TK revealed her health status in public but how their conversations wouldn’t last long at all.
He mentioned of the lack of interest she has in music (loss of concentration, memory is known long-term effect), he mentioned how he could play music but she would only be interested in 30 seconds of it. After the scandal, he got back into music and was no longer able to care for her himself and thus he hired medical staff to watch over her.
TK said: “Because of her stroke, she somewhat lost interest in many things and changed from a woman to a small girl. We have stopped communicating as adults. I feel so sorry for thinking this, but the pressure of having to keep on going (to take care of her health) kept piling up to the point that it became emotionally damaging. I think I began feeling exhausted from around three years ago.”
In 2017, he suffered hepatitis C which increased his stress level and led to him to lose hearing due to treatment. Unfortunately, due to his busy worklife, he couldn’t go to the hospital and began staying at a hotel which was near a clinic. And it was this clinic, where he would get garlic injections for his stress and exhaustion. And the nurse that he would often seen, they became close and would eventually have an affair (last month and this month) and they were caught by the tabloid.
Because of his condition, he wasn’t able to meet music deadlines and his work suffered. He apologized to his wife, family, staff and fans and also to the nurse.
So, he decided to retire from the music industry. When asked what his wife thought, she responded on LINE.
He was asked if they would divorce but he said he has a stronger love for her now than before she had the stroke and wants to stay married to her.
