OKAMOTO’S Performing at Seattle’s Sakura-Con 2018

Japan’s universally acclaimed psychedelic rock band, OKAMOTO’S has announce that they will be performing at Seattle’s
Sakura-Con 2018. 
 
Celebrating its 21st year, Seattle’s Sakura-Con will be taking place between March 30th– April 1st, 2018 at the Washington State Convention Center.  Sakura-Con is the second biggest anime convention in the West coast, and is ranked in the top five of anime conventions in North America.  OKAMOTO’S will be performing on the second day of the convention; Saturday, March 31st.  Stay tuned for more updates on panels and autograph sessions.

<OKAMOTO’S PROFILE>
OKAMOTO’s is a four-piece psychedelic rock band from Shinjuku, Tokyo.
In tribute to one of the most influential avant-garde artists, Taro Okamoto and legendary punk band, Ramones, the overall band name as well as the band members’ Sho, Koki, Hama, and Reiji, have all added OKAMOTO as their moniker.
Since their initial debut in 2009, OKAMOTO’s have gone on to release a total of (7) studio albums.  Included amongst such albums are their hit anime tie-up singles, “Yokubo o Sakebe”, the 18thending theme of Naruto: Shippuden, as well as “HEADHUNT” featured in Durarara!!
In 2010, OKAMOTO’s made their way to the US for the first time, becoming the youngest Japanese male act to perform at the SXSW Music Festival and Conference held in Austin, Texas. 
Their performance at SXSW subsequently opened doors to a 7-city tour throughout the US, an Australian tour, and more than 100 shows across Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Vietnam, as well as securing line ups in Japan’s most legendary music festivals, such as Fuji Rock Festival.
OKAMOTO’s have also joined band, The Verbs, which features legendary composer/producer/musician, Tamio Okuda, along with Steve Jordan, Pino Palladino, and Meegan Voss, on their Japan tour as a guest act.  British singer/songwriter Paul Weller, also has included OKAMOTO’s as his guest act sparking interest in the band from “New Wave” fans.
Transgressing all generations and musical genres, OKAMOTO’s continues to transcend the likings of other rock bands, expanding their sound and notoriety on a worldwide basis.
