The Original five Morning Musume members reunited for 20th Anniversary performance in Nagoya

As Hello! Project and Morning Musume celebrates their 20th Anniversary, the original five members of the group which consists of Ishiguro Aya (39), Nakazawa Yuko (44), Abe Natsumi (36), Iida Kaori (36) and Fukada Asuka (33) made an appearance and performed at the Aichi Prefectural Art Theater on January 28th as part of the “Hello！Project 20th Anniversary!! Hello！Project 2018 WINTER ～FULL SCORE～”.

A total of 41 people have become members of Morning Musume since the group debuted back in 1997 and debuted with the single “Morning Coffee”.

When asked about their performance, lead vocalist Abe Natsumi said, “Everyone was nervous and trembling before we went out on stage.  But we said, “let’s give it our all” and the fan response was warm.  I am grateful to celebrate the 20th anniversary and I will not forget this feeling.”

Fukada Asuka, who was the first member to graduate from the group after a few years of being a member of Morning Musume said, “It was a long time ago but I did it!  The five of us together.  Morning Musume has been loved by many generations and many active members since our time.  I really appreciation today’s reception”.

A 20th Anniversary Commemorative Mini-Album will be released on February 7th.  The contents are as follows:
