Aoi Eir’s “Ryūsei” to be the opening theme for “Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online”

With “Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online” set for broadcast in April, it was announced that the opening theme for the new anime series will be by Aoi Eir and the song is titled “Ryūsei” (Meteor).

A CM for the opening theme was released on YouTube (unfortunately, viewing not available outside of Japan).

Aoi Eir is a familiar voice for “Sword Art Online” fans as she sung the theme song “Innocence” (her third single) for the 2012 anime series “Sword Art Online”, her sixth single “Niji no Oto was used for the special “Sword Art Online: Extra Edition”, her seventh single “Ignite” was the opening theme for the 2014 anime series “Sword Art Online II”, her digital single “Cynthia no Hikari” was used as the opening theme for the video game “Sword Art Online: Lost Song”.

“Meteor” will be Aoi Eir’s first song through her new label Sacra Music, an anison sub-label of Sony Music Entertainment Japan.

“Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online” will be broadcasted on TOKYO MX / BS 11 / Togi TV / Gunma TV / MBS / TV Aichi in April.
