“Koi wa Ameagari no You ni” (also known as “After the Rain”) is a manga series written and illustrated by Mayuzuki Jun.

An anime series from Wit Studio began airing in January 2018 and a live-action film adaptation directed by Nagai Akira (“Judge!”, “Teiichi no Kuni”, “Sekai kara neko ga kietanara”) is set to be released via roadshow on May 25th.

The story of “Koi wa Ameagari no You ni” revolves around a high school student named Tachibana Akira (portrayed by Komatsu Nana) who loved being in the track team and running but an injury forces her to give up running.  Depressed and walking in the rain, a 45-year-old manager of a family restaurant, Kondo Masami (portrayed by Oizumi Yo) invites her into the restaurant and gives free coffee.

While cold and shy, he gets her a job working part-time at a family restaurant.  But the next thing you know, she starts falling in love with Kondo, who is a divorcee and father of a young boy.
