Eguchi Tomomi is known for her appearances on television and also for her voice as a narrator and moderator.
Aside from being the wife of comedian Tsumami Edamame, she is also a hardcore fan of collecting stuffed animals. Often taking photos and videos of them and posting it on her Instagram and putting them in poses and creating the voices for them.
But on February 3rd, while riding on the Tohoku Shinkansen, she accidentally left Mogutarou on the Shinkansen and she was hoping the cleaning crew would find him. She was frantic and had been in tears after their loss of one of her favorite stuffed animals.
A flyer created by Eguchi was made and it circulated on social media with fans and also friends hoping to spread the word to find Mogutarou, the clothes he was wearing and the mask that he had on his face.
A month and then nearly two months would pass that Ariyoshi would give Eguchi several Mogutarou-like stuffed animals.

Many fans wrote to Eguchi in the many weeks for her to never give up hope!
Eguchi who wrote that her stuffed animals were like irreplaceable children for those without children.
And then on March 29th, she posted on her blog and Instagram that Mogutarou was returned.
Eguchi wrote that she nearly collapsed in tears thanking Ariyoshi Hanseikai staff and also those who searched for Mogutarou all over the country.
But most of all, she is thankful to those who returned Mogutarou and carefully protected it. The mask was not broken, the clothing was neatly folded.
She feels the person who returned it, was a gentle person who protected Mogutarou.

And Eguchi blogged that this would be the first good sleep in the first time, in a long time, since losing Mogutarou.
And with her latest post with her and her husband posting with Mogutarou and a video with Mogutarou’s (stuffed animal) friends all happy, suffice to say, it is great to have a happy ending to this story!
