KSCI was known to provide Asian programming for people in the Southern California area.
Through UTB18.1, many people discovered Japanese pop culture through programming, even if it was only for a few hours on a Saturday night.
Having been around since 1971, the following message was posted by the UTB18 Chairman and President on their website:

We are very sad and sorry to inform you that we will end our broadcasting service on April 8, 2018.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation for your loyal patronage and support over the many years since 1971.
