With “Gekijoban Pocket Monsters Minna no Monogatari” (Theater version Pocket Monsters ~Everyone’s Story~) set for a July 13th release, it was announced that former AKB48 member Kawaei Rina will be participating as a guest voice actor in the latest Pokemon animated film.

The film features a new adventure featuring Satoshi (a.k.a. Ash) and Pikachu in a city that receives the blessing wind from legendary Pokemon Rugia at the annual festival.

Kawaei will play the role of Takao Lisa, a high school student who is a beginner to Pokemon.

Kawaei said, “It is a great honor to be able to participate in the world of Pokemon that many generations, from children to adults know about it.  I usually do not have the opportunity to work as a voice actor but I am happy to finally get an opportunity.  I practice a lot at home!  Playing the energetic Lisa, I want to do as much as I can to do it properly and show a bond with Eevee and other characters!”.

The film will also star Ashida Mana, Nozawa Masako, Hamada Gaku, Ohkura Koji, Nakagawa Shoko and Yamadera Koichi

The second trailer was revealed on April 8th.
