Former Ebisu Muscats member Kawamura Rika announces on her blog that she has cervical cancer, will undergo hysterectomy next week

Former Ebisu Muscats member Kawamura Rika has announced on her own blog that she has cervical cancer.

Back in the middle of March, she went into the doctor not knowing why she was bleeding and whether or not she has a fever.

She went to various hospitals and was tested by a urologist and she was diagnosed with pyelonephritis (kidney infection).

As she was healed from the kidney infection, she returned to the hospital for a followup (as reservations are often book), her doctor asked her to please return to a general hospital as the clinic is unable to give a full inspection and undergo more tests.

As she went to the hospital to give blood samples, an X-ray examination, an EKG, CT and an MRI, it was then discovered that they found that she has cancer – cervical adenocarcinoma and that she was close to stage 2, but still at stage 1.

Next week, Kawamura will undergo an extensive uterine hysterectomy (the removal of the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries) and will be hospitalized for a month.

Kawamura’s blog post has inspired others but also receiving positive comments from cancer survivors who are lending their personal story of fighting their cancer to Kawamura and no doubt giving her positive comments and wishing her a safe surgery.
