Voice actor Umehara Yuichiro to focus on medical treatment and rehabilitation for Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis

Voice actor Umehara Yuichiro (27) announced on his official website that back on Octobr 10th, he was hospitalized for Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), an inflammation (swelling) of the brain which can lead to disorders such as loss of vision, weakness, numbness and loss of balance.

His management posted that “Umehara Yuichiro is currently hospitalized and being treated for Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis”.

According to his management, activity has to be halted as Umehara concentrates on treatment and rehabilitation.  When he returns, management will post a notification.

Umehara is known for playing roles such as Siegfried Kirchels in “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These”, Eugene Seven Stark for “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”, Rene Simm for “Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign”, Kuroo Hazama/Black Jack for “Young Black Jack”, En Yufuin for “Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!”, Mars for “Black Clover” and more.
