The Amuro Toru effect continues!

For the second time in Animedia’s history, the monthly anime magazine will release a second edition of an issue.

This one will be the June issue which features Edogawa Conan and Amuro Toru on the cover for the film “Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikko Hito” (Detective Conan Zero Enforcer) which was released in theaters in Japan back in April 13th.

Earlier this week, this week’s “Shonen Sunday” (Shogakkukan, issue #24) released on May 9, 2018 had become difficult to find.

Partly because it features a “Meitantei Conan” (Detective Conan) side story featuring Amuro Toru titled “Zero no Nichijo”.

The character is known for having three identities, Furuya Rei (is his real name), Amuro Toru and Bourbon (Black Organization). And the super popular character who works for the National Police Agency Security Bureau Security Planning, Chiyoda Division and an agent who is working undercover in the Black Organization.

The publication has become a hot topic that it was trending on Yahoo! Japan and on Twitter. Many who are traveling to various book stores looking for the publication to no avail, as it is sold out at many locations.

Many employees at bookstores in Tokyo and Osaka have said the magazine has sold out on the day of release and because it is a weekly magazine, they will not get anymore.

Amuro Toru has no doubt become one of the most popular characters discussed on SNS (social media).  And the name is no doubt a play on the popular Gundam character, Amuro Ray who is voiced by voice actor Furuya Tohru.
