Kuriyama Chiaki and Maeda Oushirou to star in “Galaxy Express 999 – GALAXY LIVE DRAMA” to air on BS SkyPerfecTV on June 18th

「銀河鉄道 999 Galaxy Live Drama」のビジュアル（C）松本零士・東映アニメーション/スカパー！

Matsumoto Leiji’s popular SF manga series “Ginga Tetsudo 999” (Galaxy Express 999) will receive a live drama adaptation courtesy of SKY PerfecTV!

It was revealed that actress Kuriyama Chiaki will be playing the role of Maetel, while Maeda Oushirou (of the brother comedy duo, Maeda Maeda) will be playing the role of Hoshino Tetsuro.

This is the first time that the manga series is being made into a live-action drama.

“Ginga Tetsudo 999 – GALAXY LIVE DRAMA” will air on BS SkyPerfecTV! at 8 p.m. on June 18th.  Visual images of Kuriyama as Maetel and Maeda as Hoshino were released today.

It was also announced that Ouki Kaname will play the role of Queen Emeraldas, Someya Toshiyuki will be playing the role of Machine Earl, Hashimoto Jun will play the role of Oyama Tochiro and Ukaji Takashi will play the role of Antares.

The drama will be 60 minutes long with a talk corner for 30 minutes titled “Ginga Tetsudo 999 40th Anniversary Memorial Drama [Ginga Tetsudo 999 GALAXY LIVE DRAMA]” MC’d by Nakagawa Akinori, will play the role of Hoshino Tetsuro in the stage version of “Ginga Tetsudo 999 – GALAXY OPERA-“.

The stage version will begin in June through July.  A trailer was released last month:
