Model Tominaga Ai revealed that she stopped any performing arts activities for three years to focus spending time with her son

Model Tominaga Ai (35) is one of the well-known Japanese models in the world and she is also an actress who has starred in films such as “Devilman”, “R100” and “The Long Goodbye”.

Tominaga was married to a Paris-based patissier in 2004 and gave birth to a baby boy in 2005.  Tominaga would divorce her husband in 2009 and retained custody of their young son.

Tominaga appeared on Fuji TV’s daily morning show “Non Stop!” and she revealed that she stopped all performing arts activities for three years until September of 2017.

Tominaga said, “I feel that the character of a child is the most obvious thing for a mother.  When I was busy with work, I would have conversations with my son, but there was a time that I had to think because what he said was very shocking”.

The single mother/model continued, “I had an intuition that something was wrong and my son looked at me and said, ‘Mother doesn’t want to be with me.  I wish I had never been born’.  I was shocked and felt I was struck by lighting, my son’s heart was filled with loneliness and I noticed it”.

Tominaga realized that she needed to spend more time with her son.  Tominaga said, “I spent time with him, traveling, as a director of the PTA, and concentrating on parenting and deepening the bonds as a parent to my child”.

Tominaga has posted about her love for her son on Instagram:

While Tominaga returned back to modeling work in September, she said that she plans to keep a balance between work and family time.
