“Hataraku Saibou” to receive a stage adaptation in November

Shimizu Akane’s “Hataraku Saibou” (Cells at Work!) manga seres will be receiving a stage adaptation.

With an anime series currently airing in Japan, a visual release for the stage version featuring actor Wada Masanari as Neutrophil/White Blood Cell (U-1146) and Nanaki Kanon as Erythrocyte/Red Blood Cell (AE3803).

The original story is about blood cells that live in the human body, and the body is represented as a city.  The cells try to fight against pathogenic microorganisms and bacteria.

Erythrocyte is a ditzy red blood cell who started her job in delivering oxygen and carbon dioxide all over the body.  One day she is attached by a pneumococcus germ and is saved by Neutrophil, who kills foreign germs and viruses in the body.
