In 2017, AKB48 changed formats with their Janken tournament (AKB48 Janken Taikai) by switching from a solo debut to an AKB48 Group Unit Janken Tournament.
Last years winner was fairy wink (Aramaki Misaki and Unjo Hirona), the winning unit got a solo debut, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th raked units had a c/w song. Here is an example of last year’s event:
The event was held at the Nihon Kogakuin College’s underground facility “Katayanagi Arena” and Fortune Cherry, which consists of AKB48’s Tadaki Kyoka and HKT48’s Matsuda Yumi were victorious in the rock, paper, scissors tournament.
