On September 18th, Yamamoto “The Kid” Norifumi passed away from cancer.
A Japanese mixed martial artist and kickboxer who competed in the UFC, Yamamoto was known for his fights for K-1 Hero’s. Yamamoto came from an athletic family, his father Ikuei Yamamoto wrestled for Japan at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munic, his sisters Yamamoto Miyuu and Seiko Darvish won world championships in freestyle wrestling.
His sister, champion wrestler Seiko Darvish (married to Chicago Cubs pitcher, Yu Darvish) posted the following:

Seiko thanked her older brother’s opponents and friends who took part in a memorial video to pay tribute to “The Kid”.
