Kuraki Mai wrote the song for the “Meitantei Conan: Kurenai no Shugakuryoko-hen” Special which will air on Yomiuri Television on January 5th and 12th next year.

The anime will also feature Kuraki’s first try as a voice actress.

Kuraki revealed that she was part of the theater department back in high school.  Kuraki said, “I am so happy.  Dreams do come true if you keep on wishing”.

Kuraki has a strong connection to the “Meitantei Conan” anime series.  Her third single “Secret of my Heart” (April 2000) was used as an ending theme and for the 2000’s, it is the highest selling single tied to an anime in 2016.

Since then, Kuraki music was used as an opening them for “Meitantei Conan” 8 times and 11 times as an ending theme.  Including theatrical films, she has offered 21 songs for “Meitantei Conan” and was certified as the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest number of theme songs for an animation series sung by the same artist.

For the special, Kuraki has two theme songs “Kimi to koi no mama de owarenai itsumo yume no mama ja irarenai” and “Barairo no Jinsei” and will increased the record to 23 songs.

The special will be broadcasted at 5:30 p.m. as a one hour special on January 5 and 12th on Yomiuri TV.
