Actor/singer Tomoi Yusuke involved in numerous domestic violence cases, announces retirement from the entertainment industry

Tomoi Yusuke (38), member of the male singing group Genuine and also and actor who appeared in “Kamen RiderAgito” as Kamen Rider Gills and as Lt. Hayama in two “Godzilla” films is in hot water after tabloid magazine “Bunshun” revealed he was involved in numerous domestic violence cases.

Tomoi, a former member of Johnny’s Jimusho retired back in March 2006 but returned a year later to form the music group, genuine with other actors: Odao Ryuhei, Shirakawa Yujiro and Sakai Kazuyoshi.  The group performed most recently on “Kouhaku Uta Gassen”.

On January 9th, Bunshun reported that Tomoi was involved in numerous domestic violence problems but also financial problems and having affairs.

And today, Tomoi admitted that he has had problems with women and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

Tomoi said in his press conference, “The press has presented facts, and I betrayed the faith of all our fans.  I am sorry and I will live paying for it”.

When he told his management and group members, the leader of the group Sakai Kazuyoshi screamed at him “Baka yaro” (idiot).  He told each member that he wanted to retire and none of them objected.

Bunshun reported that Tomoi beat and kicked his child and Tomoi admitted that he “Beat and kicked him, I think that I am weak”.  A reporter asked, “Are you sick and need treatment?”.  Tomoi replied, “I think you are right.

As for his money problems, 17 million yen disappeared due to betting on horse racing.  Tomoi said, “I had lost hundreds, thousands of yen and I looked back and felt, I need to pay my debts as soon as possible”.

Tomoi said he borrowed money from acquaintances and repaid it last year.

The four members of genuine will be holding a press conference on January 15th.
