J-ENT HISTORY: On this date… January 30

1995

“For You” episode 4 starring Nakayama Miho, Takahashi Katsunori, Takashima Masanobu, Akashi Ryotarou,Moriguchi Hiroko, Katori Shingo and Yokoyama Megumi aired.

This is about a woman who’s husband just died and she doesn’t know if she will ever fall in love ever again. When only 19 years old Yayoi (Nakayama) found herself pregnant and alone after the tragic death of her lover. Bravely she decided to bring up the child as an unmarried mother. For five years she has selflessly devoted herself to her son. Now 24, a change of job turns her life completely upside down. She falls deeply in love with a colleague called Toru (Takahashi Katsunori). Unsure of his reaction, she keeps her son’s existence a secret. Yayoi is torn between love for her dearest son and love for Toru.

1997

The fourth episode of “Shin Mokuyo no Kaidan Finale: Time Leeprs aired starring Takizawa Hideaki, Nakayama Emiri and Azuma Mikihisa.

The fourth episode of “Stalker Sasou Onna” starring Jinnai Takanori, Hinagata Akiko and Kobayashi Nenju aired.

Morita (Jinnai) is a happily married father of two lovely children and has a beautiful wife. Uehara (Hinagata) works as an OL in the same company as Morita. One evening, while drinking at a bar, Morita picks up Uehara and they have a romantic liason. Uehara becomes pregnant with Morita’s child and she begins to stalk him and the family he loves.

1998

“Music Station” featured the guests GLAY, PUFFY, MY LITTLE LOVER, HIDE with SPREAD BEAVER, Morning Musume, SHONEN TAI and J-FRIENDS (TOKIO, KinKi Kids and V6).

The fourth episode of “Ryakudatasu Ai*Abunai Onna” aired.  Starring Akai Hidekazu, Inamori Izumi, Kobayashi Nenji and Suzuki Sarina.

2000

“Beautiful Life” episode 3 starring Kimura Takuya and Tokiwa Takako aired

Okishima Shuji (Kimura) is a skilled hair stylist, taking pride in his work, but finds it difficult to be sociable and glib, and therefore is not too popular with the customers. He comes from a family of doctors, but he himself had failed to enter medical school. He has a rival in colleague Kawamura Satoru who is popular and considered a “charisma” type of hair stylist.

Machida Kyoko (Tokiwa) has been unable to walk since she was in high school, because of a type of diffuse collagen disease which atrophies the muscles. Although handicapped, she is very capable, with a job at a library, and can manage most things in daily life. However, she has resolved long ago not to form romantic relationships. She is the daughter of an old brewery, which is now run by her older brother Masao.
