“Sei☆Onisan” (Saint☆Young Men) is receiving a live drama adaptation

It was announced that the popular manga series “Sei☆Onisan”  (Saint☆Young Men) will be receiving a live drama adaptation.

The popular series by Nakamura Hikaru has sold over 16 million copies.

The NHK drama will be directed by Fukuda Yuichi and the screenwriter will be Matsuyama Kenichi and is produced by Yamada Takayuki.

The drama will star Matsuyama Kenichi as Jesus Christ and Sometani Shota as Gautama Buddha.

The original manga/anime series features life between Jesus and Bhudda who live together as roommates in an apartment in Tachikawa, Tokyo.  They are taking a vacation and attempt to hide their identities to learn more about Japanese society.

The series will be ten episodes long and three episodes will be released on the week of June 22nd, June 29th and July 6th at 11:30 p.m.
