Checking out the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Tokyo – Part 4 – A look at the merchandise

Located on the first floor of the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Meguro, Tokyo (directly to the right when you enter inside) is the merchandise area.

I have described Starbucks Reserve Roastery as like an amusement park for coffee lovers. Many things to see, crowded area and expensive merchandise.

For those hoping to spend Y1000 and get something cheap, don’t hold your breath as it seems that nearly everything seems to be near Y3000-Y3500 with the exception of bags of coffee beans.

In terms of merchandise, you’ll find a plethora of things:

You’ll see the Starbucks clacker board near the merchandise cashier area. According to Starbucks: Patented by Solari and exhibited at the MoMA in New York, clacker boards have been used in stations and airports all over the world since 1956. Every Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery has its very own.

And as you get your merchandise ready to pay at the register, this is also a location where one can purchase Starbucks coffee beans.

As you can see, there is quite a bit of merchandise sold at Starbucks Reserve Roastery and I was all in for a vinyl bag and coffee cup. But at Y3000+ per item, it can be quite costly. But for travelers, considering it a once in a lifetime experience, then spending a bit more at this location makes sense.

For tomorrow’s post, I take a look at the other floors!
