Takigawa Eiji shares congratulatory message to his cousin Christel on her marriage to Koizumi Shinjiro

Actor Takigawa Eiji congratulated his cousin Takigawa Christel on her marriage to politician Koizumi Shinjiro on his official blog.

Takigawa Eiji is known for his Lipovitan D commercials and playing Tezuka Kunimitsu “Tennis no Ojisama” musicals.  Back on September 15, 2017, Takigawa was severely injured in a bicycle accident during the filming of the live-action “Yowamushi Pedal 2” TV series (where he played the character Fukutomi Juichi).

Takigawa was transported by helicopter in which he was immediately operated on and was diagnosed with a spinal chord injury and has been blogging about his experience of unable to move anything below his head and how a month later, he was able to move his left thumb slightly, then starting to gain movement in his left and right arm.

Takigawa said that he was unable to use his fingers so he has to type his blog with his mouth. As of March 2019, Takigawa was able to stand with a walking brace.

But Takigawa has blogged about how his cousin has been there for him during his tough times.  And has been using his blog to show his rehabilitation and his challenges with living with a cervical spinal cord injury.

In his blog, Takigawa wrote, “Shinjiro, Christel, congratulations on your wedding!  I feel so happy!  Christel has supported me for the last two years since I had a disability.  I appreciate it.  Along with the grace of a new life, with strength, kindness and beauty, will build a family full of love.  I feel that the two are the best in the world!  Congratulations!”.
