After 11 years, NTV’s “AKBINGO!” is coming to an end in September

“AKBINGO!” has been a staple of NTV late night programming since 2008.

The popular AKB48 variety show helped making AKB48, the most popular idol groups in Japan, showcasing many generations of talent who have auditioned and was able to make it into the spotlight.

But it was announced that NTV’s “AKBINGO!” (Tuesday at midnight) will be closing its curtain after 11 years at the end of September with five episodes left.

The announcement was made right at the end of the August 20th broadcast of “AKBINGO!” which left members looking stunned and hoping it was a joke… but it’s no joke.
