Japanese reaction to Alexa CM is much different than American reaction to Alexa CM

Earlier this year, Amazon released a commercial featuring a daughter contacting her father on how to cook a duck and it was a humorous commercial well-received in America and comments can be seen on YouTube.

But in Japan, a similar type of commercial featuring a son contacting his mother on how to cook curry is getting somewhat of an interesting reaction of people not so thrilled that the son hangs up on mom.

Comments were closed on YouTube.

Reactions in Japan were rather interesting.  Some feeling it was rude of the son to hang up on his mom who literally helped him cook the curry.  Another felt why cook that dish for your date, to responses so different from the US commercial.  But that’s cultural differences between the two countries and reception of similar Alexa commercials.

＊彼女にご馳走する肉じゃがを母親の味にしたくて母親に電話するいい歳した男性の妙
＊肉じゃがなのにカレー粉入れてケチャップ入れて白滝入りの変な料理に変身させる母親の妙
＊今度の彼女はどう？と探りを入れる母親の妙
＊めんどくさくなると秒で電話を切る男性の妙

2つ目→彼女にごちそうするなら肉じゃがよりカレーが良いという母のお節介？
3つ目→うちの母もプライバシー無視で恋愛事情聴いてきます…なので私は特に気になりませんでした…
4つ目→チャイム音から彼女が来る時間帯だったかも
