Two people were arrested for threatening actress Ito Ayumi

Ito Ayumi (39), best known for her roles in the film “Swallowtail Butterfly”, “GANTZ”, “Cheer Boys!!” and better known as the voice of Tifa Lockhart for “Final Fantasy VII” and many other Square Enix games, was threatened by two separate individuals.

On June 8th, a woman in her 20s living in Aichi prefecture sent a threatening e-mail to the site of her entertainment agency.

On June 11th, a man in his 30s living in Hokkaido wrote to the production and sales departments at Square Enix with threatening messages about stabbing and wanting the company to change the voice acting from Ito to someone else.

The two people who threatened were not acquainted and threatened Ito separately.

Authorities were contacted and because of the threats, Ito had to miss the sneak preview of a drama.  The incident could not be announced at the time but Ito was said to miss the event due to poor physical condition, but in truth, she had to cancel because she wanted to protect herself from harm.
