Why are disliked entertainers striking it big on YouTube?

In an article by “Shukan Jousei PRIME”, the question asked is why are entertainers that were disliked, such as Miyasako Hiroyuki and Egashira 2:50 having success.

Egashira 2:50 has often ranked #1 in the “Disliked Performers Ranking” for nine consecutive years, he achieved 1 million subscribers in just nine days becoming the first Japanese person to achieve 1 million subscribers the fastest.

But why is he so popular online?

According to the article, Egashira 2:50 has been on the Internet fora  very long time.  Because he can’t do his style of comedy on terrestrial television anymore, his style of comedy is suitable online and popular among his fans.

But the person who received a lot of criticism was comedian Miyasako Hiroyuki.  When he first posted his YouTube video, he received a lot of negative comments and only received 470,000 subscribers, while the first video received 4 million views, it had more unlikes than likes.

But the differences between both comedians are different.  Egashira 2:50 is considered an underground entertainer that occasionally goes on TV.  Miyasako was one of the top MC’s on television.  Both are very different.

Egashira 2:50 works with a video production staff he has worked with for many years on online programs.  While Miyasako is operating with staff who work with major YouTubers.

With that being said, both men have a high number of views per video but Egashira 2:50 has not made any money as his videos have not been approved by google.  Through YouTube, if one violates the rules, they will not make any money.

But for Egashira 2:50, if he was to leave and return, he would more than likely still retain his followers.
