JFA chairman and vice president of the Japanese Olympic Committee, Tashima Kozo tested positive for coronavirus

Japan Football Association (JFA) Chairmain Tashima Kozo has tested positive for coronavirus.

Tashima learned he was infected on Tuesday afternoon after having symptoms on Saturday.

J-League canceled their scheduled prss conference after the Board of Directors meeting scheduled at the JFA House in Bunkyo, Tokyo.

JFA issued a statement that Tashima was feeling fine despite having a little fever and symptoms of pneumonia.  Tashima said in the statement, “I will concentrate on my treatment according to my doctor’s instructions”.

Tashima went on a business trip abroad at the end of February to the beginning of March where he attended the European Football Federation (UEFA) Conference in Northern Ireland and toured the United States Nadeshiko Japan Women’s Nationals in the US.

Tashima is also the vice president of the Japan Olympic Committee (JOC) and director of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Organizing Committee.  He is also a board member of the Federation Internationale Football Association (FIFA).
