TV Stations to take new measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus

With TV Asahi “Hodou Station” newscaster Tomikawa Yuta (43) infected with the novel coronavirus, each TV stations will take new measure to prevent infections.

Especially if a newscaster has many opportunities to come into contact with staff, chances of being infected is great.

For NTV’s “ZIP!”, MC’s Masu Taichi (38) and Tokushima Erika (31), the two appeared from different studios.

TV companies are going to be doing more remote appearances, reducing number of cast, taking a look at staff shifts and taking measures that will lead to less contact with related parties as much as possible.

Another precaution is not suing pin microphones that are worn on clothes and placing microphones on top of the table.

Stations are incorporating working from home and preventing their announcers from coming to work unless they have to appear on television.  TBS also is conducting training for new employees through video conferencing.

Also, reducing the number of people waiting in the station to respond to emergencies such as earthquakes.
