Ninety-Nine comedian Okamura Takashi apologizes for his remarks on radio show

Okamura Takashi, one half of the comedy group Ninety-Nine, apologized on Wednesday for his remarks that the coronavrius will lead pretty women to enter the sex industry as they will be in need of money.

Okamura made the comments on last Thursday’s “Ninety-Nine Okamura Takashi no All Night Nippon”.  While Nippon Broadcasting made an apology, many wondered when Okamura, who made the comments, would make an apology.

A statement was posted on the Yoshimoto Kogyo Holdings Co., which represents Okamura.

Okamura said he deeply regrets his comments without considering circumstances in the world and that his comments were extremely inappropriate toward people who are in a tough position.
