Fukuoka Police drop marijuana possession charge against former HKT48 member Taniguchi Airi (21).

Taniguchi was also released from custody by the Fukuoka District Public Prosecutors Office on Tuesday.

The arrest took place on March 26th and .025 grams of dried cannabis was found in a condo in Fukuoka where her family lives.

Taniguchi told police that it was in the room but it was a shoulder bag that another party (a former boyfriend) left behind. In that room, paper and equipment for cannabis were also found.

Taniguchi debuted as a student in October 2011 and was promoted in March 2012. She graduated not long after as her goal was to become a fashion model.

She resumed entertainment activities in 2014 in gravure but has not posted any activities on SNS since 2016.
