“TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” cast member/pro surfer Kanao Reo mourns for Kimura Hana and also remembers Imai Yosuke on Instagram

Pro surfer Kanao Reo joined “TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” for new experiences and because his friend Imai Yosuke recommended him.

Imai Yosuke was a cast member from the first “TERRACE HOUSE” series “TERRACE HOUSE: BOYS x GIRLS NEXT DOOR” who passed away due to myocardial infarction back in 2015 and the two were close friends.  Imai even gave Kanao his “TERRACE HOUSE” key from the series.

When Kanao joined the “TERRACE HOUSE”, he and housemate Kimura Hana sat on the outdoor porch as he was getting emotional of being a member of Terrace House and explained to her what it means to him to be on the show..

And today, Kanao has posted a photo of him mourning Kimura Hana and also thinking about his good friend Imai Yosuke in an Instagram post. The post features Kanao holding flowers and letting it float in the ocea.

Kanao wrote a long message pouring his heart out for Hana and being unable to believe she is gone. How he can’t change what has happened but he bough pink flowers and because she liked the sea, he went to the sea (the photos show pink petals on the ocean in memory of Kimura Hana).

Kanao wrote, “I am unable to organize any of my thoughts.  Hana… Something that should have never happened, has happened.  It should never have happened.  I don’t want to believe any of it, and I didn’t want to look at my phone so I left it.  I wasn’t able to think about anything and so I have been in a daze.  To those who have been contacting me, I’m sorry if I made you worry.

The unfortunate truth about all this, is what happened cannot be changed.  So, I brought these flowers for Hana in her favorite color, pink. Hana loved teh ocean, so I thought she might be here.

I wonder if you could meet Yosuke? Yosuke is awesome! You and he would get along well. I can’t go there yet, but we’ll meet each other again someday.

In this world,I think there are various opinions of what may have happened but I have no idea what is the correct or incorrect answer. The only certain thing is that I was unable to protect my precious friend Hana. I can not regret it, even if I do feel regret. I was unable to protect Hana, an important friend who had her whole life ahead of her”.

Kanao then talked about the cyberbullying that led to Hana’s death.

“A lot of people say things like “Ignore the hate” but for those who are on the receiving end of it, they can never forget it.  There are those who can.  It’s the same thing with bullying, some will call it violence through words and that’s what this is.

How happy words can make someone happy.  How sad words can make people feel sad. That’s the truth.  What has happened can absolutely not be in vain.  My condolences goes out to Hana’s family.  Thank you Hana.  Rest in paradise, Hana”
