“TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” host Yamasato Ryota posted an Instagram in regards to Kimura Hana’s death

Comedian Yamasato Ryota is one of the longtime hosts of “Terrace House” and one of the hosts of the current season of “TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020”, often going against the grain and always trying to joke in a situation in order to liven up the mood, even if he knows his other co-hosts may get upset at him (especially the housemates).

Yamasato posted two tweets:

Yamasato writes, “I would like to express my sincerest condolences to Kimura Hana.  I was caught off-guard by what happened and a lot of time had passed and I am still at a loss of words. I couldn’t say anything in regards to Kimura during such unsteady conditions, due to being afraid of how my words could be interpreted.

Now that reality has sunk in, I wonder whether the anxiety behind such a strong personality on screen could have been noticed, and if there was anything that we could have done about it”.

ず、しばらく言葉を発することに躊躇をしてしまいました。
今、現実を受け止めて、なぜ画面の中で力強く立ち振る舞っているその姿の裏にある苦悩に気づけなかったのか、何かできることはなかったのかと強く感じています。
