“TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” panelist/comedian Tokui Yoshimi tweeted about the death of Kimura Hana.
Tokui writes, “Pro wrestler Hana Kimura has passed away. When I think about a young person’s future was lost and the sadness of all the people around her, as someone involved in the program, I have feelings that are hard to describe.
It’s natural for me to be criticized and scolded for the problems I have caused (editors note: Tokui is referring to his tax scandal of failure to pay taxes for years, earlier in the year and forcing him to miss out on work for months), but for Hana, her situation was different. She did not do anything that required her to received hateful comments from strangers who, after leaving their comments, went on with their normal lives at work, go to school, play and eat as usual.
However, people who received those comments cannot live a peaceful day. When you wake up in the morning and open SNS, all you see in hateful comments. At noon and at night before going to bed, they will read more of those comments.
This may have been the life that she lived each day, and I imagine that she was really, really suffering.
Death is scary for anyone. However, when I think about the fact that she chose death, I am asking myself whether there was something I could have done to ease her feelings.
If there is anyone out there suffering as well, please distance yourself from SNS. It will make a huge difference of what you see and don’t see.
I will try to accept what has happened, and I will always remember her wonderful talent and bright smile”.
