Watanabe Mayu has retired from the entertainment world

The last time anyone has heard from former AKB48 turned TV-host Watanabe Mayu (26) was back on December 31st and the fact she has not appeared on TV or on social media has worried many of her fans.

Production Ogi, Watanabe’s management office announced, “Watanabe Mayu found it difficult to continue performing for health reasons. She has not been in good physical condition for several years and we have been having discussions with each other but because it was a health reason, we gave top priority to her health and respect the will of the person to end her contract on May 31, 2020 and to end entertainment activities”.

“As for Watanabe Mayu in the future, we would like her to focus on her health and we hope she can rest in mind and body and live a peaceful life”.
