Chef Modegi Hiroshi announced that he has lung cancer

Taimeiken chef Modegi Hiroshi (53) announced on his blog that he has lung cancer.

Modegi is the third generation chef of the popular restaurant Taimeiken in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.  A restaurant which was featured in the film “Tampopo” and is known for its “Tampopo Omurice”.  Known for his tanned skin and featured on variety shows on television, Modegi wrote, “I knew I had lung cancer but I’m very scared to think that I might get pneumonia because coronavirus is now widespread”.
