Popular influencer/model Neo wants out of VAZ, Neo’s mother goes public about what is going on with her daughter, while VAZ responds to mother’s blog

In Japan, Neo (19) is a Japanese model known for her YouTube and TikTok videos.

A Popteen exclusive model from 2018-2020, she made her music debut on March 17th and continues to be a popular influencer.

But her mother made a post in regards to what is going on with Neo and her YouTube channel and her contact with VAZ (a company founded in 2015 who works with social influencers)

Neo’s mother wrote:

It seems that many people have felt it was strange that Neo’s YouTube videos haven’t been posted.

I have been spending my days suffering from the situation where my child is unable to leave her management office herself.

As a parent, I may be a small force, but in order to avoid the current situation, I decided to disclose the truth to the people who support us and have been worried.

I’ve been telling VAZ many times about her intention to leave the office for some time.

The reason is that the amount of what she receives is wrong. The percentage is insane!

Even if you make YouTube revenues of millions of yen a year, there are months where she is only paid Y300,000 a month ($2,833 US). Even if there is a contract, its costing her millions of yen annually.

In addition, the manager, Okada-san has abandoned the site.

Harassment.

When I asked how long the contract period was, I was told the date which was incorrect.

Neo’s mother continued, “I am worried that she may not be able to leave until the contract expires because the contact name of ‘Neo’, VAZ has the rights to the name.  Because of this, Neo’s activity may stop for a long time.  We are now in contact with a lawyer to request a cancellation of her contract.  It is not permissible to deceive a child who is a minor which has been done until now.  The reason why I am making this public this time is to let you know the current situation and the reason why the YouTube has not been updated because of the current situation.  I hope there will not be any more victims..  Neo herself is worried that all activities will stop if she leaves the office because of the problems of being discharged.  As a parent, this is not right for one to trample on your child’s daily efforts.  I hope that Neo will have a new start as soon as possible.  Please continue your support and I appreciate if you can help”.

VAZ has responded to Neo’s mother’s blog post:

Since July 29, 2020, “Neo” has been working with an attorney, who has been communicating with us regarding “Neo” and our contractual relationship.

Under these circumstances, on August 17th, “Neo” canceled the delegation contract with our representative attorney and today, I regret the other person (her mother) posted something different from the facts on her blog.

In addition, we have not even received factual confirmation from the lawyer or the other party regarding the content of this blog.

We sincerely apologize for causing a great deal of inconvenience and concern to all concert parties and fans in this matter.

In the future, we will take strict measures in consultation with our legal counsel.  We will report as soon as the details are available.
