GACKT comments on Iseya Yusuke’s arrest, Kiriya Kazuaki’s name gets confused by netizens and has contacted his attorney

Actor Iseya Yusuke was arrested for suspicion of violating the Cannabis Control Law.

About 20.3 grams of dried cannabis was subdivided into four bags and hidden in his living room desk at his home. The marijuana going price for what was found is over 100,000 yen.

According to an investigations expert, if not for personal use but for sale, he will be treated as a “dealer” and there will be no suspended sentence and even for a first offense, he will be sentenced to prison.

GACKT (47) wrote on Twitter, “This is my personal feeling.  Now, because of corona, actors, musicians and dancers are losing their jobs and are suffering.  Iseya is a mature actor who had been a role model for young actors, but what are you doing?”.

GACKT then wrote, “People misunderstood that it was Kiriya, my good friend and movie director, they have a similar name and are saying that Kiriya was arrested”.

Unfortunately, people started thinking it was photographer/filmmaker Kiriya Kazuaki which prompted Kiriya to send the following tweets:

Kiriya Kazuaki (52) wrote, “A lot of people who are confusing my name with his name, because of the arrest of Iseya Yusuke. I noticed that many misunderstood, but I was scared to think that there are people who are not aware and sharing this information without knowing it. There is a possibly that actual damage can occur and I will take measures”.

Kiriya then wrote, “This is an example of confusion with Iseya. It is not possible to misunderstand that even if you are an ordinary person, you made a decision without checking the information. Including this case, I have contacted my attorney. If you do not delete this within the next few days, we will proceed with IP disclosure and take steps to claim damages”.

GACKT wrote, “I’m angry with Iseya, but I’m even more angry with someone who misunderstands and gives wrong information. Kiriya is getting upset, we are friends, so please stop spreading this wrong information about him”.
