Ito Kentaro Arrest – More Details from the Investigation

Actor Ito Kentaro (23) was arrested on October 28th for suspicion of violating the Car Driving Pentalty Law (accidental injury caused while driving) and the Road Traffic Act (for hit and run).  Before 6 p.m. on October 28th, Ito collided with a 250cc motorcycle carrying two people, one man (26) who suffered bruises, while the female (27) suffered a broken leg, at an intersection in Sendagaya, Tokyo.

Ito a model who made his debut as an actor in 2018, has been appearing on many numerous television programs.

According to the investigation, a taxi witnessed the scene, honked and chased him.  The taxi driver advised him to return to the scene, but he did not slow down and even tried to escape.  Ito said he was upset and in a panicked state and that’s why he left and he admitted to neglecting his duty to provide any help to the victims and he is under suspicion of escape and destruction of evidence.

There have been media reports that Ito’s career as an actor is over and that the money he owes to companies for work is high.  It was reported that back in April, Ito was involved in an accident in Bunkyo ward.

The last major hit-and-run case was back in 2018 with former Morning Musume member Yoshizawa Hitomi who was drunk and hit a person crossing a pedestrian crossing in Nakano Ward and left the site and didn’t return for more than ten minutes later, she neglected to rescue the man and was charged with negligent driving that could have caused a fatal injury and violating the Road Traffic Act and was convicted of two years in prison and five years suspended sentence.
