Sakai Noriko’s ex-husband arrested for the fourth time

Sakai Noriko’s (49) ex-husband Takaso Yuichi (52) was arrested for the fourth time.

Takaso was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Ikebukuro Station on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Law for using stimulants.

Takaso was arrested after his urine test was positive.

Takaso was convicted for two years in prison and four years suspended sentence in 2009.  He was arrested in 2012 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for violating the Narcotics Control LAw but not charged due to insufficient evidence.  In 2016, he was arrested for violating the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Act for possessing dangerous drugs and was sentenced for one year in prison.

Takaso is known for his wife’s troubles back in 2009 when Sakai, who had an innocent image (due to her idol years in the ’80 and ’90s) and as an actress, was arrested on suspicion of possession and abuse of drugs and sentenced to probation for three years.

When Sakai was released on bail, accompanied by her attorney and Sun Music VP Aizawa Masahisa, Sakai said during her press conference, “”My weakness caused me to give in to illegal drugs and caused grief to many people. I pledge to repent and atone for this crime for the rest of my life”.

Wanting to change her life, she divorced Takaso and worked hard to rebuild her image, getting a degree in welfare and nursing care in 2013 at the Unviersity of Creation: Art, Music & Social Work in Takasaki, Gunma and she and their son have managed to stay away from Takaso’s troubles.  Sakai has also been active in going to China (where she has a huge fan base) to perform but also to educate the hazards of drug addiction.
