Chungha tested positive for COVID-19, prompting other K-Pop female groups to get tested

MNH Entertainment announced on December 7th that Kim Chungha tested positive for COVID-19.

Chungha who has been seeking rehabilitation for her injuries was at a sports center last Wednesday (December 2) and a confirmed positive case which occurred at the Center on December 5th.

Chungha went to get tested on December 6th, but according to Dispatch, she and her manager tested negative.  But an hour later, the health center called her that there was a mistake due to a computer error and that she had tested positive.

MNH Entertainment has asked people to stop spreading malicious rumors that she went around and met with people after testing positive.

Immediately, after Chungha’s positive test, management agencies went to full gear as there are numerous people who may have been in contact with Chungha.

DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon, gugudan’s Mina, WJSN’s Yeonjung and Chungha were together at Mina’s home on December 4th to celebrate her birthday.  An hour later, Chungha, Yeonjung went to Chungha’s home and TWICE’s Sana came later to join them.

Chaeyeon tested negative, but as for WJSN, all members were tested after learning that Yeonjung had close contact with Chungha.

JYP Entertainment has announced that TWICE members and their manager tested negative for COVID-19.  As Sana had contacted with Chungha, and members had contact with Sana.  While the members tested negative, Sana will have to comply with health authorities and self-quarantine until December 18th.

IZ*ONE underwent testing as a precaution, due to the rising of cases in the entertainment industry and their appearance for Naver NOW’s “Panorama IZ*ONE” had to be canceled.  It was announced that all members and staff have tested negative and promotions of “One-Reeler Act IV” will be continued as planned.

Off the Record and Swings Entertainment said that despite no one showing symptoms, nor have they received orders to receive a test, because they prioritize the safety of their artists and staff, they are taking a proactive step and will release the results as soon as possible.

MLD Entertainment announced that all members of MOMOLAND have tested negative for COVID-19, as members use the same salon as Chungha or those who had close contact with her.

Chungha’s single “X” was to be released on December 10th but due to testing positive for the novel coronavirus, she immediately entered self-quarantine as instructed by health authorities.
